Harley-Davidson Tri Glide Ultra, a new motorcycle concept

Let's question the concept of motion. What makes a vehicle a motorcycle? Two wheels certainly, the consequent precarious balance having only two support points available, which is fundamentally not a bad thing if you look at it through the eyes of someone who sees leaning as an indissoluble pleasure... that is, 99% of motorcyclists. A population of subjects who love to provoke that mix of power and centrifugal force. AND what if we add a wheel? Simple: put it in the front and you have a modern 3-wheel scooter, put it in the back and you get a Trike (or a Piaggio Ape...!). A vehicle that here has very few admirers, mostly left to the creations of some customizers. But now Harley-Davidson, with the collaboration of the faithful through “Project Rushmore”, has created the new one Tri Glide Ultra.

A vehicle that offers regal comfort, tourism on board this HD branded Trike is a luxury that blends with maximum practicality. For those who drive, the driving position is perfect with a wide handlebar to provide the right leverage, and the passenger also has a great time seated on a seat-chair with backrest and armrests. Both are accompanied by a Infotainment system with color touchscreen (perfect even with gloves on) called Boom! Box 6.5: GPS, stereo system (with speakers everywhere...), voice commands, communications between motorbike and motorbike, are just some of the "gadgets" offered by this vehicle. The fairing is called Bat Wing, a picturesque name but a guaranteed effect, with SplitStream opening to regulate the air flow.

For a Trike, mention should be made of the rear, where there is a real luggage rack, with "top box", and each compartment can be opened with one hand, Tour Pak, 190 liters in total and a refined design, well integrated between the rear wheels. Below, the two chrome exhausts roar out.

Careful finishes, brilliant paintwork and lots of chrome, to which hi-tech details like new ones must be added LED Daymaker headlights, with a light beam of greater depth and breadth; all this does not lack an adequate technical part.

Il frame was developed ad hoc, for obvious driving reasons and for the weight which easily exceeds 550kg. 49 mm fork, steering head with reinforced ball bearings. The brakes also have a specific dimensioning and are connected via a integral braking system; ABS is not planned for now. At the top of the preferences among Project Rushmore participants, the mighty one was inserted between the pilot's legs Twin Cam 103 twin, an iconic 1.690cc engine, capable of performance and elasticity at every rotation of the throttle with almost 140 Nm of torque at just 3.750 rpm, connected to a 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission with reverse.

Tri Glide Ultra is for those who want a Harley and love maximum comfort, but it is also for those who want to stand out massively and finally it is also for those who are willing to pay the considerable price figure of 36.800 euros. Car or motorbike, the line gets thin, but one thing is for sure, it's here all the spirit of Milwaukee, only with an extra wheel.
