A profiled and powerful vision. The new Harley-Davidson® Sportster S it conveys an idea of ​​dynamic incisiveness, observing in particular the voluminous propulsive heart and a chassis that anticipates its strong character.

Design and Technology

The layout is sleek, sinuous and muscular, enlivened by a series of attention-grabbing elements, including the dual-exit exhaust system and matching colours: Vivid black; Stone Washed White Pearl e Midnight Crimson. In the central area, the tank (can hold 11,8 liters of fuel) and engine stand out. The light clusters are of type LED with a lighthouse Daymaker Signature LED whose shape resembles a capsule, developed to promote homogeneous brightness.
The on-screen instrumentation Round TFT da 4 inches it brings together different information and allows the management of different functions through the use of buttons. The display is equipped with anti-reflective glass to aid visibility. Support for an infotainment system occurs via Bluetooth® connection with a mobile device and using other supporting accessories.
There are three pre-set driving modes to choose between Sport, Road e Rain . Two more can be configured, based on the needs of the driver. The technological overview also includes the Cornering Rider Safety Enhancements by Harley-Davidson, systems to support the motorcyclist in different situations. Cruise control and proximity-based security system are reported as standard.

Technology

The engine represents an element of the chassis part, with the exclusion of a traditional type chassis and obtaining a reduction in weight. The tubular steel swingarm is also connotative.
The specimen features adjustable suspension at the front and rear, starting from a Showa upside down fork 43 mm and behind it a Showa Piggyback solution. The braking system is made up of Brembo systems: at the front a monobloc radial caliper with four pistons combined with a disc 320 mm and behind it a two-piston caliper flanked by a disc 260 mm. The bike is equipped with five-spoke aluminum wheels dressed in Dunlop/Harley-Davidson Series GT503 tires.

Motor

The engine Revolution Max 1250T it is similar to the heart that animates the Pan America 1250 example but also presents some peculiarities, including shorter valves and cylinder ports, favoring an increase in flow speed and an increase in torque offered at medium and low rpm. A 1.252 cc V-Twin and the transmitted power reaches 121 horses at 7.500 rpm, while the torque 127 Nm at 6.000 rpm. Values ​​to be compared to a curb weight of 228 kg.
