Harley Davidson Sport Glide – Harley-Davidson could revive a model we haven't seen in over 20 years. The FXRT Sport Glide. The name of this bike has been seen both in the United States and in Europe in some "trademark application papers". So, Harley-Davidson could most likely create a new model soon.

Rumors say that both the US Patent and Trademark Office and the European Union Intellectual Property Office have received requests to trademark the name Sport Glide, a motorcycle that Harley Davidson introduced way back in 1983. The Glide Sport is a spin-off of the Super Glide. According to hotbike e Motorlands, the Harley-Davidson Glide Sport was initially supposed to be equipped with a powerful liquid-cooled V4 engine, which the American brand abandoned due to insufficient financing. The FXRT will have a wider and higher seat. Therefore, more space for both the driver and the passenger. Plus, it could be a sportier cruiser than the past. The vents in the front fairing were designed in the wind tunnel and should serve as scoops for the ducts that channel cold air into the radiator. It is not yet known when the new Sport Glide will arrive on the market. But guessing it could arrive for Intermot 2016 or at the latest for "our" EICMA. Even if it seems like a far too risky idea.

If Harley-Davidson really wanted to introduce the new Sport Glide this fall, will have to use the existing Dyna platform and its engine. However, a redesigned front fairing is perhaps not enough to justify the return of the Sport Glide. We can understand how the Milwaukee designers are already working hard on a larger-scale revamping of the "old" Harley.
