Harley Davidson appears to be interested in acquiring Ducati. The Milwaukee company, according to Reuters, would be very interested in the operation which would be worth around 1,5 billion euros to be paid to the Volkswagen Group.

Also according to Reuters, Harley Davidson has chosen Goldman Sachs as advisor. The offer should be formalized as early as July but, according to other anonymous sources (always cited by Reuters), Volkswagen could think about it a little longer, extending the evaluation of any proposals by a few months.

We recall that Audi acquired the Italian brand in 2012 for a sum of around 860 million euros and as mentioned for the sale of the Ducati brand we are talking about a valuation of 1,5 billion euros.

The sales market is booming. 55.451 motorcycles sold in 2016 (+1,2% compared to 2015 which in turn had already been a record) of which 15.500 were Scramblers. The strongest market remains that of the United States, but those of Italy and Spain are also growing, and especially China, with a surge in sales (more than doubled compared to 2015).
