The new specimens Harley-Davidson® Pan America™ 1250 e Pan America™ 1250 Special they are powered by a motor Revolution®Max 1250. A heart V-Twin, liquid cooled, designed to convey consistent vitality.

The engine

As indicated, the engine Revolution®Max 1250 for the models Pan America ™ 1250 e Pan America™ 1250 Special it shapes a strong character, considering the torque delivery and accelerator control as a function of off-road driving.

A thruster V-Twin di 1250 cc with liquid cooling, as mentioned, equipped with a narrow profile of the powertrain centralizing the weight, for balance, ergonomics and handling. A compact heart characterized by a V-cylinder angle of 60 degrees with a space for the throttle assembly, maximizing the air flow from a performance perspective. The weight reduction is also functional, given the adoption of monobloc aluminum cylinders with galvanic surface coating in nickel silicon carbide (Nikasil) and valve covers and timing chains in magnesium alloy. The pistons are made of forged aluminum with four overhead valves per cylinder, two of which are intake and two exhaust; plus two spark plugs per cylinder, variable valve timing, hydraulic clearance adjusters and two separate intake and exhaust shafts per cylinder. The crankpins are offset 30 degrees, as indicated.

Among the interesting aspects, this engine is a unitary powertrain with a six-speed gearbox and appears as a structural element of the chassis.
A heart shaped taking into account the optimization of the weight/power ratio which affects the same development of the new ones Pan America ™ 1250 (242 kg in running order) e Pan America™ 1250 Special (253 kg in running order). The engine is integrated as a central component. A power of 150 horses and a vertex pair of 94 ft. Lbs (127,4 Nm).
