Experienced Dakar rider Joan Pedrero will take part from 22 to 29 October 2022 to the raid “1000 Dunes” who shoots from Granada with one Harley-Davidson® Pan America™ 1250.

A challenge for the new Adventure of the American brand

For those who are more trained, the race “1000 Dunes” represents a useful test to improve the pace with a 90% off-road route. An ideal theater to admire Pedrero's performances aboard the Pan America™ 1250. The riders are monitored and supported by the raid team and a traveling camp. Along this route, the average speed is lower than any other event of this type, there is no time control and in the competition the navigation ability of the pilots in particular stands out, as mentioned.

The route of the raid, lasting a week, consists of seven stages, the first of 120 km and the remaining six of 395 km. We start from Granada, then cross the Mediterranean Sea by ferry from Motril to Nador. A passage is expected from the kingdom of the Bereberes, along the Atlas Mountains, where it is possible that participants will encounter difficult temperatures and even snow. Subsequently we go towards the dunes of Erg Chebbi, through the most deserted areas of Morocco. In the final stages, the pilots travel across Moroccan territory from Merzouga to Nador, along the most challenging part of the event.

On this occasion, rider Joan Pedrero can highlight the qualities of the first Harley-Davidson® Adventure Touring example, tackling the challenge in a category designed for more experienced riders.
The motorbike is characterized by converging aesthetic and technical factors, ranging from the horizontal headlight designed to better illuminate the off-road route, to the support handles and integrated bag holders.

The model is equipped with technologies designed to support the driving experience, such as improvements in driver safety when cornering and multiple driving modes, managed electronically. One is also highlighted Adaptive Ride Height (Adaptive Ride Height), a sophisticated solution that allows the motorcyclist to get on the saddle and safely place his feet on the ground when he stops, lowering the height of the saddle and making it easier to get on and off.
The motorbike features an engine Revolution®Max 1250, a heart V-Twin da 1250 cc liquid cooled. The power reaches i 150 horses.
