After presenting itself to the general public at EICMA, theHarley-Davidson LiveWire was revealed in great detail to Consumer Electronics Show of Vegas.

Harley-Davidson LiveWire: how it's made

It's difficult to say whether LiveWire could be the future of Harley-Davidson, but it is still a bike destined to spark conversation and discussion. It was certainly born to be an electric motorbike, yes, but with high performance, design evocative, so much tech and a very tall one constructive quality. According to what was announced by HS, the performance of the LiveWire electric motorcycle will allow for exhilarating riding for more experienced motorcyclists, while the lack of clutch will make the experience for new motorcyclists easier and more accessible than ever. “We are at a historic juncture in the evolution of transportation and Harley-Davidson is at the forefront – declared the CEO of Harley-Davidson, Matt levatich -. Innovation that moves body and soul has always been at the heart of our brand and the next chapter in our history aims to create new products and opportunities for today's and tomorrow's riders, of all ages and lifestyles".

The LiveWire can boast aacceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 3,5 seconds. The instantaneous torque provided by the HD Revelation electric thruster it can produce 100 percent of its torque the moment you open the throttle; and 100 percent of that torque is always available. The electric power does not require a clutch and does not change gear, significantly simplifying operations for new motorcyclists, while the charge can be regenerated when braking, which is an advantage when used in stop-and-go urban traffic. With a single charge it is possible to travel approximately 180 km of urban roads. The frame of this HD green is designed to offer maximum maneuverability for absolute control both when driving in the city and on curvy roads. The engine is located at the bottom of the bike to lower the center of gravity and give the bike great stability and agility, as well as making it easier to control when stationary. The motorcycle also offers high-quality technology: electronic chassis control is standard and features a cornering assist braking system with optimized ABS and traction control. The systems are fully electronic and use the latest and most advanced inertial measurement unit and ABS sensor technology. Vibrations are reduced to a minimum.

Harley-Davidson LiveWire: go-go technology

The LiveWire is equipped with the HD Connect system which connects the motorcyclist and his motorbike through an LTE technology telematic control unit combined with cloud connectivity services using the latest version of the Harley-Davidson app. This technology makes LiveWire the first mass-production interconnected electric motorcycle on the North American market. Thanks to the HD Connect device, data is collected and transferred to the app to provide information to the motorcycle user's smartphone. Information available via HD Connect includes battery charge status and remaining range, vehicle location and any tampering attempts, as well as reminders and notifications for vehicle maintenance.
