Harley-Davidson Livewire ready for European debut at EICMA

Harley-Davidson – Everything is ready at home Harley-Davidson for the debut Live Wire, the first electric motorcycle that will be officially presented at EICMA next November 6th.

Harley-Davidson spirit but with zero emissions

On sale since 2019, Harley-Davidson LiveWire it is the first of a series of electric two-wheeled vehicles that Harley-Davidson will create, as announced last July as part of the company's accelerated growth strategy which has decided to have an aggressive approach towards the electric mobility sector to expand the motorcyclist customer base and enter new market segments. In fact, together with the LiveWire, HD will also launch the Adventure and Streetfighter models during 2019. Harley-Davidson LiveWire is characterized by roadster lines, it is a compact, aggressive motorbike, with great character and features that recall the Buell world. The version that will arrive in dealerships in 2019 has undergone an update compared to the project presented in 2014, so much so that the two versions, according to Paul James, director of the LiveWire project, have only 1% of the parts in common. If there are still few technical details available to the press and enthusiasts, Milwaukee wanted to underline how connectivity is one of the distinctive features of electric by HD.

This motorbike, in fact, will be able to interact with the rider's smartphone, showing information relating to calls, navigation thanks to the color TFT display, but also information relating to the vehicle's diagnostics. According to the first rumours, one of the main features of LiveWire will be that of being very light. Some whisper more with a weight closer to a bicycle than a motorcycle and will have a range of at least 160 km. The transmission will be belt-driven, the braking system with double four-piston callipers at the front. The rear monoshock is Showa, while as regards the tyres, the measurements will be 120/70 17" at the front and 180/55 17 at the rear

Harley-Davidson is also Battle of the Kings

EICMA 2018 will also be the occasion for the announcement of the overall winner of the Battle of the Kings 2018 global contest. Battle of the Kings is the largest customization competition reserved for dealers, with customization specialists from over 300 Harley-Davidson dealerships in 30 different countries competing for the 2018 title. The challenge for the competing dealers was to create a customized Harley-Davidson special using the infinite possibilities of the Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories catalog and with a limited budget. Competing for the overall title will be three finalist bikes from Australia, Italy and Thailand which will be on display on the Harley-Davidson stand at the Show. The winning bike will be chosen by the Harley-Davidson design team and the announcement will be made during the press conference scheduled on the stand at 14pm on Tuesday 50 November.
