Harley-Davidson LiveWire – The COO of Harley Davidson Matt levatich would have revealed the price of the new electric two-wheeler from the Milwaukee motorcycle company, the LiveWire, also presented during the latest edition of the EICMA in Milan. The price, dollars 50.000, was made public by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, who was present at the meeting of Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council, and where the newspaper, paraphrasing Levatich's words, deduced that the Harley Davidson LiveWire will arrive on the market at double the price expected, however, by customers of the US brand. Although the news went around the web, Harley Davidson he immediately wanted to correct the Sentinel saying that no internal representative of the motorcycle company could have given a potential price to the LiveWire, given that its mass production is not yet certain.

There would be two reasons so the Harley Davidson Livewire will have difficulty going into production. Primo. The Milwaukee motorcycle manufacturer has equipped its prototype with a small electric battery, at least by market standards, and, therefore, a battery sufficient to handle only the shortest test rides. Furthermore, i requirements of the Harley Davidson LiveWire are much lower of those that a real motorcycle would need to satisfy consumers and the market in which it would be presented. Two. Harley Davidson wanted keep weight low of LiveWire through the use of very light batteries that reduce the overall weight of the prototype. Since batteries also account for the majority of costs on electric motorcycles the LiveWire would actually be a fairly cheap motorcycle to produce, rated at just 7 kWh. The current financial problems of Mission Motorcycles, which helped Harley design and build the prototype and which plays a huge role in LiveWire's production plans, would, however, force Harley-Davidson to find another partner as soon as possible, which could mean Huge setbacks to LiveWire's production schedule.

As for the $50.000 mark, it would be a surprise to see Harley Davidson position its LiveWire at that starting price given that it's obvious that the stars-and-stripes motorcycle manufacturer has not yet built a motorcycle that can command such a high price, at least according to market experts.
