Harley-Davidson: the news from the Milwaukee company at EICMA 2019 [INTERVIEW]

The future of the American home is increasingly electric, but there is no shortage of "old-fashioned" innovations

Ad EICMA 2019, Harley-Davidson has set the objectives and projects for the next few years, which will see it increasingly expand towards electric mobility. We talked about this and much more with Marino Grassini, Country Business Manager Harley-Davidson.

Ad EICMA on display in addition to the now famous Livewire, the motorcycle that opened the doors to the electric breakthrough of the house of Milwaukee, the new eBikes were also present. For the moment these are only prototypes, but we will see them again soon, together with a new range of full-Electric motorcycles.

However, the Milan show was an opportunity for the American company to present two new models: Pan america e Bronx, both equipped with the new Revolution Max engine. Two bikes that maintain the Harley-Davidson style, but totally new. The new one will also arrive for 2020 Low Rider S.

Speaking of the engine, it is a 60 degree V-Twin engine, equipped with double throttle body with maximized air flow and liquid cooling. An engine developed in two different sizes: 1250 cc for the Harley-Davidson Pan America, with a power of over 145 horsepower and a torque that exceeds 122 Nm, and 975 cc for the Bronx, with a power of over 115 horsepower and over 94 Nm of maximum torque.

Furthermore, for both new models, the house of Milwaukee collaborated closely with Brembo for the creation of customized braking systems consisting of a new four-piston monobloc radial caliper, and with Michelin for the creation of dedicated tires to maximize the cycling qualities of the models.
