HARLEY-DAVIDSON Dark Custom 2015

The occasion was that of WeAreCustom evening dedicated to the many new features of the American brand, from the new casual Black Label Spring & Summer collection, to the "Battle of the kings", a contest dedicated to the best customizations on the Street 750 base. To demonstrate the potential of Dark Custom accessories, three motorcycles were then created, drawing heavily from the HD spare parts catalog and beyond. The result is spectacular, with objects that could furnish a living room of a luxury home, as well as be used for what they really are.

The first is based on a Dyna Street Bob, a model that entered the Dyna range in 2007, immediately became a success for its minimalist style. The engine is the Twin Cam 96 or the 103 1690cc air-cooled and mounted on rubber mounts, combined with the 6-speed Cruise Drive gearbox. The customization of this example develops around Chizeled handlebar narrow and satin black, to one Single-seat bobber saddle in antique black leather with brass inserts and forward controls. In full respect of the spirit of this model, everything superfluous has been removed. Chizeled handlebar features aggressive “Z-bar” profile, a classic of Chopper style. The spectacular Bobber solo seat represents the essential look of "garage-made" motorcycles. The thick antique black leather covering is applied directly to the metal seat frame, reducing the ground clearance as much as possible. The leather is finished with brass rivets, a “Milwaukee Since 1903” plaque and a heat-stamped Bar & Shield logo, all for the true “bobber” look. The forward controls accentuate the custom riding position and blend perfectly with the "mini-ape" handlebars Reverse Tribal rearview mirrors and the style of the model. THE 10-spoke black Switchblade wheels and repositioned front turn signals on the forks and Diamond Black fuel caps with LED indicators give a modern-style Dark Custom look. The new Burst collection for grips and footrests which offers details in satin aluminum, chrome and black closes the circle of the truly personal style of this model. Not a little attention has also been paid to the engine: Screamin' Eagle air filter with Dark Custom logo and Super Tuner ECU increase torque for even greater recovery. Finally, there is a side bag with enough space for the essentials. Everything at your fingertips while maintaining the aggressive look of this Street Bob unchanged.

We then move on to a Sportster Forty-Eight, which stands out quite a bit for its Hard Candy color – Big Red Flake. The Forty-Eight has been part of the Sportster family since 2010 and has surpassed every best prediction, immediately entering first place among the best-selling HD models in Italy. This was to be expected given that in Italy there is a culture, or rather the "cult" of the Sportster but the requests far exceeded expectations, attracting many motorcyclists who until then had been strangers to the Harley-Davidson world. Thanks to this model, the "Sportster Culture" also developed in the rest of Europe and the Forty-Eight was the best-selling Harley-Davidson in Europe in recent years. The basic elements of this model are the 1.200 cc Evolution engine, ABS and the Smart Security System anti-theft system. For this special the front end is robust and massive, the "drag" style handlebars and reversed mirrors they go well with the essential and minimalist look of the motorbike. The driver is led to assume a particularly aggressive and forward-leaning driving position. The first thing that catches your eye about this Forty-Eight is the Hard Candy Big Red Flake paint on the classic 8 liter Peanut tank which appeared for the first time in 1948 and which gives the model its name. There White Diamond solo seat adds a retro style to this modern bobber. This elegant saddle is characterized by white edge and stitching which highlight its essentiality. The Compact Sport screen, positioned above the front light, gives a modern and personal look. Modern look accentuated by bright red brake calipers, from built-in tank cap from the series Get-a-Grip rubber grips and footrests for optimal grip and the oil cap with illuminated LCD display. Speaking of performance we find the Screamin' Eagle Agitator air filter with a vigorous and aggressive style that just asks you to start the engine and go at full throttle. Paired perfectly with Screamin' Eagle Super Tuner control unit and terminals always branded Screamin' Eagle 100% “street legal”. Now also available again for Europe, these terminals have a deep and personal sound combined with an increase in performance in full compliance with current regulations. Here they are mounted in the chrome version and combined with the perforated heat shields.

Third bike a Sportster Iron 883 in Brilliant Silver Pearl. The Sportster icon of recent years, the 883 Iron, free of chrome and always present among the best sellers since its appearance on the market in 2009, demonstrates a rebellious character that goes well with the pure essence of his personal style. Powder coated 883cc engine with black valve covers. Short fenders that show off the tires. Black front fork with gaiters for an old-school aesthetic solution. The distinctive feature is the classic 12,5 liter Peanut tank which combines traditional style and modern character. Always in full Dark Custom style as with the previous models, this Iron is openly oriented towards the Café-Racer scene in vogue in recent years. Attract attention thanks to the brand new Clubman handlebar. Designed to bring the knobs to the height of the steering plate, gives the pilot a extremely aggressive riding position which wraps the tank. The handlebar features holes for internal wiring for a cleaner style. This aggressive riding position fits perfectly with the new one Café Solo Seat saddle, characterized by a slightly accentuated rise to give the rider more comfort. THE checkered stitching they are a tribute to the world of competitions and the Café Racer style. Here too the custom look does not go unnoticed thanks to the round black mirrors, built-in tank cap and seriously Black Diamond grips and footpegs. Speaking of performance, it wouldn't make sense to talk about aggressive and "Cafè-Racer oriented" style without a little more torque. So here's the massif Heavy Breather Screamin' Eagle cone filter with polished manifold and chrome cover. Combined with the Screamin' Eagle Super Tuner control unit and the new approved exhausts, which captures the attention of many not only thanks to its look, but also to its sound.
