Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide and CVO Street Glide 2023: new examples of exclusivity in the year of the 120th anniversary [PHOTO]

Two new exclusive Custom Vehicle Operations™ creations

The new models Harley-Davidson® CVO™ Road Glide® e CVO™ Street Glide® they are distinguishable by their refined appearance, which represents a reinterpretation of the platform Harley-Davidson® Grand American Touring. Along with sophisticated technological content, a powerful new Milwaukee-Eight® VVT 121 engine pulsates. The CVO™ Road Glide® and CVO™ Street Glide® examples are expected at the event Harley-Davidson 120th Anniversary Festival scheduled in Budapest, Hungary, June 22-25; as well as in Milwaukee, in the United States, for theHarley-Davidson Homecoming™ Festival scheduled from 13 to 16 July 2023.

Aesthetics

The design recalls that of previous Harley-Davidson® Grand American Touring models. Each model is offered in two highly refined paint and finish options. A standard robe Dark Platinum with Bright Smoked Satin pinstriping and matching internal fairing, with powertrain and air filter Gloss Black with details in Scorched Chrome on engine inserts.
While the optional one, at an additional cost, is two-tone Whiskey Neat/Raven Metallic with matching fairing. A hand-placed pattern featuring panels Raven Metallic figures on an intense orange base Whiskey Neat, as well as shaded details and pinstripes in a bright orange.
Both color schemes will be enriched by accessories from Adversary™ Collection present on the motorcycles, as announced.
From an aesthetic point of view, fairings with integrated air intakes and LED headlights with integrated LED directional indicators are visible. Also highlighted are other details such as the profiled front mudguard, a new fuel tank 22,7 liters with a distinctive lateral bevel and side bags with a new three-dimensional shape, keeping in mind the development of the fairings and tank. Also distinctive are the new Combo Cast Laced rims with intertwined spokes developed in machine-cut cast aluminium.

Technical and technological aspects

The new fairings support aerodynamics and thermal comfort, given a “floating” windshield design and air control flaps that can be adjusted. During wind tunnel tests, subjective discomfort from the helmet was attenuated by an average of 60%, compared to equivalent 2022 models. The new engine cooling system further refines thermal comfort compared to previous CVO™ models, such as underlined.
The models CVO™ Road Glide® e CVO™ Street Glide® they also feature a new range of infotainment technologies linked to the new Skyline™ OS operating system. Highlights a 12,3-inch TFT color touch screen which takes the place of the analogue instruments and most of the controls. The screen can be customized by choosing from three options and is compatible with Apple and Android devices. Wi-Fi connectivity allows for a wireless connection and the system features a Bluetooth® receiver for wireless headphones.

For the first time, these examples are also equipped with driving modes selectable between Road, Sport and Rain with a specific combination of power delivery, settings of the Cornering-Antilock Braking System (C-ABS), of the Cornering-Traction Control System (C-TCS ) and engine braking.
Each is equipped with compartments for storing multimedia files and a USB-C connection point, also mentioned is a four-speaker Harley-Davidson® Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate® Stage II sound system, powered by a new 500 watts RMS.
During development, every aspect of the design that could impact comfort and performance was considered. SHOWA suspension elements on both sides support handling and provide superior comfort compared to previous examples, with an increase in rear suspension travel by 50%. The Brembo™ braking system provides a consistent feel to support safety.
The dry weight is reduced to 14 kg for the CVO™ Street Glide® model and 16 kg when switching to the CVO™ Road Glide® model, remembering the previous references.
The new engine Milwaukee-Eight® VVT 121, at 121 cubic inches, represents a new standard for stock displacement and torque on a Harley-Davidson® Touring motorcycle. It features liquid-cooled heads with a new variable valve timing (VVT) system, a high-performance exhaust system and a new intake manifold.

Availability

The arrival of both models in showrooms Harley-Davidson® is expected during the summer.
