Guy Martin  – After 6 days of testing on the Bonneville salt lake, Guy Martin sets the new land speed record with a two-wheeled Triumph vehicle. His Triumph Infor Rocket Stremaliner, a 1.000 HP monster, reached 441,28 km/h and thus became the English brand's fastest vehicle ever.

Guy Martin surpasses the previous official Triumph record of 95,36 km/h, dated 1966. But also the unofficial one of 424,86 km/h, recorded by Bob Leppan with the Gyronaut X-1 in 1970. Guy Martin seemed to be on the ball straight away. The 441,28 km/h were reached after only two miles from the start. Martin amazed everyone, even his team after managing to understand and control the vehicle after a very short time. Every time the English rider sat inside the Triumph streamliner he was in fact able to achieve all the objectives set by team leader and designer Matt Markstaller. Now Guy Martin is ready to chase the absolute land speed record with a two-wheeled vehicle. This new record is just "training" towards the main objective.

"This was the test week for our Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner. Everything went according to plan.” said Guy Martin. "I am managed to figure out how govern the half pretty quickly. So it was just a matter of being able to increase our speed. The wind is the biggest obstacle here, it's not just about accelerating hard. We managed to reach 274,2 mph and this earned us the title of fastest Triumph ever. Of course we are very happy about this, but this is just one step towards our goal. The current record is 376,36 mph, and that's our goal".
