The group FIVE - Italian Electric Vehicle Factory, a company engaged in two-wheeled electric mobility with brands Italwin e Wayel, chose to join the SBMC Consortium as a battery developer, to expand the production of these devices and for motorcycle OEM collaborations.

The news

The group has a factory that follows the principles of ZEB logic (Zero Energy Building), as highlighted. The SBMC Consortium took shape thanks to various entities in the world-class motorcycle industry, in order to advance the diffusion of electric vehicles while also aiming to promote industrial standardization of interchangeable batteries and battery exchange systems, in addition to the infrastructures associated with such solutions; so that motorcycles and mopeds still remain protagonists even in the future mobility conceived today.
The current members of the Consortium are: AVL, Ciklo, FIVE, Forsee Power, Hioki, Honda, Hyba, JAMA, Kawasaki, KTM, KYMCO, Niu, Piaggio, Polaris, Roki, Samsung, Sinbon, Sumitomo Electric, Suzuki, Swobbee, Vitesco , VeNetWork, Yamaha.
By joining the SBMC Consortium, FIVE shares its knowledge as a developer of batteries for electric bicycles with the possibility of entering the moped and motorcycle market.
Given that ongoing electrification is instrumental in reducing CO2 emissions, the motorcycle industry is aiming to expand the use of electric motorcycles. An achievement linked, however, to various factors such as the reduction of charging times and the cost of vehicles and infrastructure, as well as the increase in useful autonomy.

In summary, the SBMC Consortium aims to:

1.Develop standard technical specifications for interchangeable battery systems.
2.Test and confirm the common use of battery systems.
3. Create and promote the Consortium's common specifications as standards at European and international standardization bodies.
4. Extend the use of the Consortium's common specifications globally.
