Friday 14 May it was the day of the event “GP Days 2021”, the occasion on which he was remembered George Parodi, co-founder in 1921 of Moto Guzzi.

The memory of the aviator

The original program has been modified, given the ongoing health emergency. The well-known aviator and motorcycle enthusiast signed the deed of establishment of the eagle brand in Genoa on 15 March 1921, together with the Milanese Charles Guzzi. This year we remember its 100th anniversary. The Ligurian city is linked to Parodi and for this reason the institutions including the Municipality of Genoa together with the Air Force, the Genoese Air Force Association and the Giorgio Parodi Foundation, promoted the "GP Days 2021" which was also joined by the 'Italian Historic Automotoclub.

The complete program planned for the centenary will be proposed again by 13 al May 15th next year. A large motorcycle rally is planned coordinated by the Moto Guzzi Club Genoa and Moto Guzzi World Club, at the Porto Antico of Genoa. The exhibition of 100 vintage motorcycles selected by ASI is also planned as part of the “Moto Guzzi on the catwalk” event. There will also be visits and the delivery of funds raised for the new Rehabilitation Department of the “Giannina Gaslini” Pediatric Hospital and an air demonstration of civil and military vehicles coordinated by the Genoa Aeroclub, also with historical pieces from ASI. So there is talk of a concert at the Carlo Felice theater, with the Italian Gospel Choir in the company of the Air Force band group.
At this year's event, at 15.00pm last Friday 14 May, one was shown statue by Giorgio Parodi created by Ettore Gambioli in via Mura delle Cappuccine, located not far from the place where the deed of incorporation of Moto Guzzi was signed. Palazzo Tursi then hosted the presentation of the book "Giorgio Parodi - The Wings of the Eagle", where it was also possible to see the historic "GP" motorbike (Guzzi-Parodi) built in 1919. The forerunner of future creations of the brand.
Another interesting moment of the day was also the overflight of the Frecce Tricolori, starring the National Aerobatic Team of the Air Force.
