“Claudio's friends” the MV Agusta rally in honor of Claudio Castiglioni

May 18th will be a truly important date for all fans of the brand MV Agusta. It will be held on the shores of Lake Varese, where the historic MV factory stands “Claudio's friends”, a gathering, a real event, a center of attraction for all those who experience motorbikes in the company of the three brands belonging to the Varese company, Aermacchi, Cagiva and MV Agusta. The doors will also be open for Ducati and Husqvarna enthusiasts, companies purchased and relaunched by the company Claudius Castiglioni.

This event will be a tribute to the one who was the president of MV Agusta and founder of the Cagiva brand. Production of motorcycles in series, competitions and prototypes, all with founding principles such as first-rate technical equipment, excellent riding characteristics and maximum stylistic expression. It was Castiglioni's dream, then fantastically realised, to put one into production Italian four-cylinder that made the whole world dream, the F4, which started with a displacement of 750 cubic centimetres. From then on, an evolution, new models, a three-cylinder, up to the latest creations, the Rivale and Dragster 800.

But let's get back to the practice of the event. The organization will be by MV Agusta with the collaboration of Cascina Costa International Motoclub, the Cagiva Club Lombardia and the Aermacchi Historical Register. You will be able to enjoy the display of the historic motorcycles of the "Three Brands" in the company yard and in a covered area. Historical images, photos and activities to which are added the parades from 15.00 pm, which will be led by champions such as Agostini, Lucchinelli, Bonera and Ubbiali. At 17pm it's time for the awards to be given to the most beautiful motorbike of the gathering, the oldest and the one coming from the furthest away. A lottery will be set up and the proceeds will go to the IEO Foundation (European Institute of Oncology); the lottery prize, one MV Agusta Rivale 800 Special Edition.

And at 17.30pm the most evocative moment of the event: motorbikes turned on, hand on the gas in a nice collective revving up greeting and memory of Claudio Castiglioni.
