Gibraltar Race 2020: edition cancelled
Less than two months after launch
Decided to cancel the Gibraltar Race 2020 less than two months before departure, after the event had already been postponed to September.
Appointment to 2021
La Gibraltar Race 2021 will be developed along the same path planned for the 2020 edition. The dates indicated are: 25 June 2021 in Tallinn (Estonia) – 10 July 2021 in Thessaloniki (Greece).
However, for exploration and navigation enthusiasts, considering the first edition of the Alps Tourist Trophy, we note a new version expanded between the Piedmontese, Ligurian and French Alps. A Alps Tourist Trophy International twigs 7 al September 12th and further guidance provided later, as communicated.
The reasons for the cancellation
The decision to cancel the edition is linked to a situation of uncertainty, although keeping in mind that from the 15 June it is possible to move between countries on the Old Continent, remembering the recommendations of the Council of the European Union. Uncertainty due to possible quarantines or entry bans possibly placed in some of the states crossed and unknowns such as the possible application of quarantines or bans to some of the participants based on their origin.
