This year too, the preparations and above all the registrations for the Gibraltarrace edition have begun. Departure from Romania, in Brasov on 22 June and arrival in Gibraltar, on 7 July, 14 stages in 16 days to cross 9 countries, from one tip of Europe to the other, through more or less technical routes, which cross breathtaking landscapes to a total of 8.000 km. A competition also open to non-professionals, to test themselves and their vehicles, set on navigation waypoints to be followed as correctly as possible while respecting the times indicated, in the style of the Dakar.

The permitted motorbikes are single or twin-cylinder for on and off road use, weighing more than 145 kg.

There are 3 participation classes:

Class 1: motorcycle with a displacement greater than 950 cc
Class 2: motorcycle with a displacement between 601 cc and 950 cc
Class 3: motorcycle with a displacement of less than or equal to 600 cc

They are 3 categories of belonging apart from:
Motorcycle Aged: motorcycles registered before 1999.
Women category: any motorcycle ridden by a female rider.
Team category: motorbikes registered in a team made up of at least 3 riders.

Each participant competes for the overall ranking and for the class or category chosen at the time of registration, with prizes awarded to the first 3 places in the overall ranking, and the first 3 in each class and category.
Although not reserved for professional pilots, the Gibraltarrace lives on a regulation worthy of a professional competition, providing for penalties and disqualifications based on failures in route and scheduled times, but which leaves the competition to focus more on navigation than on speed, always placing maximum respect for driving on open roads and not closed circuits.

It is also possible to register for the Express version, with two departures separated by dates and places, and which includes half of the route of the total competition and takes place in 8 days instead of 16, or participate "only" in the Gibraltar Race Series, a series of races with the same navigation formula and regularity as the Gibraltar Race, with a shorter duration (5 or 6 stages maximum) and the fact of taking place in a more geographical area limited and represent an excellent opportunity, for those who do not have enough time available, to experience this motorbike adventure that crosses the least accessible places of the European continent in just a few days.
