Gaerne launches the new on the market Gaerne SG.12, a motorcycle boot born from the studies and projects of the Gaerne Research and Development Center and from close collaboration with champions and athletes. This new product is characterized by the high degree of protection, attention to detail and comfort, but without neglecting the Italian style that has always characterized the entire Gaerne production.

The revolutionary DSPS system (Double Stage Pivot System) patented by Gaerne, involves moving the rotation axis of the boot to an advanced and elevated position with respect to the rotation axis of the ankle, thus allowing any compression to be eliminated, particularly in the malleolus area. The new protective element named Razorback it is anchored to the upper in two points: the first anchorage is fixed at the rotation point of the boot while the second is fixed on a mobile slot which facilitates the natural flexion movement of the foot, providing a stop in both directions so as to avoid unwanted extensions or compressions and cushion any shocks. The Razorback has been designed to be synergistic with the other elements of the boot and, thanks to a particular appendage that slides inside a special pocket, strongly limits lateral movements which are one of the most frequent causes of injuries; this synergy guarantees absolute protection across the entire rear part of the boot. The foot area is entirely wrapped in pre-shaped plastic material which allows it to follow the anatomical shape of the foot, giving the rider more comfort and sensitivity when changing gear. This protection is made with variable thickness and density in order to guarantee absolute safety in sensitive areas. The front end has a special shape that has anti-shock functionality thanks to a decompression area between the plastic and the upper.

Il new toe cap (i.e. the tip) made of a single body in stainless steel, it is non-deformable and anti-rust. Protrusions have been created positioned perpendicular to the axis of the tip which have the function of protecting the screws used for its fixing in order to avoid any impediment to rubbing and guarantee easy replacement of the piece at any time. The front has been given a special non-slip finish. Also for the area of heel a special shape has been designed which has anti-shock functionality thanks to a decompression area between the plastic and the upper. The special convex shape allows the rider to easily engage the gear with the heel when starting. On the internal part, the leg is almost completely covered with two inserts made of a special rubber which guarantees total adhesion between the rider and the motorbike and has strong resistance to abrasion. The covered surface is very large in order to protect the boot from the heat released by the muffler, furthermore, the special rubber covers all the screws used for fixing. Made of PU and anatomically shaped, the front plate has been designed to be modular according to the needs of the rider who can decide to move it forward or tighten it as desired to personally manage the fit to the calf or to make room for a possible knee pad. The movement can be both lateral and oblique.

Il neckband it is made of Acronos material, characterized by fibers with high tenacity against abrasion and heat, but extremely elastic, which allow unprecedented adherence to the calf. Pre-shaped to prevent the intrusion of foreign bodies, it is made waterproof by the special coating. Since the protections were made externally to the upper, Gaerne thought that internally it was necessary to give space to convenience and comfort. Hence the idea of ​​carrying forward the concept of Memory Cell Interior Foam, a soft cell covered in expanded PU that shapes around the foot and creates a comfortable environment, without obstacles or rigidity which allows the stability of the foot without sacrificing comfort, furthermore, as regards the upper part of the bootleg, a fabric has been created with a particular shape that allows excess heat to escape from the boot while preventing external agents from entering it. The closing system consists four light-alloy levers adjustable and interchangeable with special PU inserts, which allow exceptional grip and four individually adjustable straps which guarantee a tailor-made adjustment for each user.

Particular attention was given to the new design of the sole, designed to obtain, in parallel with the bicomposite material with which the sole is created, maximum grip between the boot and the footrests of the motorbike in any weather condition; furthermore, it allows resistance to oils, hydrocarbons and scratches thanks to the increased rubber thickness in the most sensitive areas. A special rubber decompression zone with anti-shock function has been inserted into the heel. The footbed is anatomical and designed to distribute the weight of the body correctly and to give adequate support to the foot. In the rear part it has been reinforced with shock-absorbing, stabilizing and anti-shock material, while in the front part it has perforations to promote transpiration of the foot. Entirely washable, it guarantees perfect grip with the sole of the boot.
