Tony Cairoli thrilled the crowd at the Fiat Professional MXGP of Lombardy, held on the Ottobiano (PV) track last weekend, with an amazing one-two in the race which consolidated his leadership in the general classification.

The eight-time World Champion proved to be in amazing form, driving flawlessly for practically the entire stage, starting from qualifying where he won despite starting in the middle of the pack.

In the first race he got off to a great start, immediately taking the lead of the group until the checkered flag, ahead of Jeffrey Herlings, the only one capable of troubling him especially in the second heat, where the two drivers thrilled the public with an exciting "back and forth" until until halfway through the race Cairoli did not definitively take the lead.

His second double of the season allows him to extend his lead in the standings to 67 points over Gautier Paulin, who took advantage of Clement Desalle's bad day to regain his place of honor in the championship.

The next round of the Championship is scheduled for this weekend, 1 and 2 July in Portugal.

We met Tony Cairoli on the occasion of the Meet&Great organized by Fiat Fullback, sponsor of the MXGP World Championship and Title Sponsor of the stage, to tell us about his emotions after the great result in his home GP.

The Sicilian champion, who is Fiat's spokesperson for the new Fullback, the pick up born from the collaboration with Mitsubishi, was obviously very satisfied with the result and grateful for the enormous support received from the public.
