Ewan McGregor testimonial for Moto Guzzi California 1400

The Hollywood star is the exceptional testimonial for the motorcycle manufacturer

Ewan McGregor he is the testimonial of the new one Moto Guzzi California 1400. It is the first time that a Hollywood star of this calibre, one of the most loved by the big screen public, lends his face to a motorcycle manufacturer for an advertising campaign.

The relationship between Moto Guzzi and the Scottish star is authentic and was born spontaneously due to McGregor's passion for motorcycles and in particular for the "eagle brand". He is the protagonist in over fifty films, including many overwhelming successes such as "Trainspotting”, “Star Wars”, "Moulin Rouge”, “Big Fish”, McGregor had already talked about his passion for Moto Guzzi in road movie  "Long Way Down”, when between John O'Groats and Cape Town he stopped in Mandello del Lario, visiting Moto Guzzi for the first time.
A few months later he reappeared in Mandello del Lario on the occasion of the WYDs (Moto Guzzi World Days) in 2007, returning to London on his white California Vintage. Today the relationship, thanks to the new Moto Guzzi California 1400, has become a professional collaboration, unique in its kind, which sees Ewan McGregor as testimonial of the new 2013 advertising campaign, a decision made after having seen and subsequently tried the two Custom and Touring of the brand new large Italian cruiser.
To make the campaign, entitled "My Bike, My Pride” was the exotic scenery of Western Australia.
For an entire weekend, last March 9 and 10 Ewan McGregor left the filming of his next film, “Son of Gun” directed by Julius Avery, to meet the lens of the Italian photographer Paolo Zambaldi. On the first day, Ewan McGregor, the California 1400 Touring and the whole crew reached the fishing village of Lancelin, 110 km north of the capital Perth, allowing Zambaldi to enhance, in the magnetic gaze of the Scottish actor, the emotion of journey and reaching the destination, in a unique natural setting, dominated by very high white sand dunes.
A diametrically opposite scenario for the following day, when in the dark docks of the port of Fremantle the long black silhouette of the California Custom 1400 meets McGregor, a spontaneous and natural interpreter of his being a tough and pure as well as sexy motorcyclist.
The final images of the formidable couple were taken against the night backdrop illuminated by the skyscrapers of Perth, where at the end of the last shots with the California Custom, Ewan McGregor explains the experience he has just had thus: “I'm proud to have been the protagonist of this advertising campaign, I think we really did something unique and great. I immediately liked the new California 1400, from the first time I saw it. Driving it then surprised me, it's from another planet, truly surprising! Word of someone who knows a lot about customs given that among my ten Moto Guzzis there are models such as the 7 V1971 Ambassador, the 7 V1972 Sport, the 7 V1974 Eldorado, the 11 V2000, the 11 V2001 Tenni and the 2009 California Vintage with sidecarŠ and soon also a California 1400 Custom!”.
