Energica Experia: a new electric tourer unveiled [PHOTO]

Energy Experia is a new electric motorcycle that projects towards suggestive travel experiences on two wheels. An example to tour which represents another interesting result of Energica Motor Company SpA's experience in the development of high-performance electric motorcycles.

The motorcycle

Advanced technology and a name that recalls the term hesperia, given by the ancient Greeks to the lands to be explored beyond the western horizon of the then known world. A desire for adventure that today can be enjoyed differently, riding an electric motorbike designed for travel.
The design appears sculpted and elegant at the same time, also considering a fairing that protects from atmospheric agents and wind. It features two USB ports on the dashboard and two more in a waterproof storage compartment that can be locked. In the Launch Edition, designed for long-distance travel, stand out as new rigid side bags it's a top box for a total capacity of 112 liters. This edition also includes heated grips, black ergal end caps and bolts, and aluminum wheels with red accents.
According to the indications, the list of matching accessories will become wider over time and will cover the different needs of enthusiasts.

The new Energy Experia it is the first model linked to a new technological platform “Energica Green Tourer” second generation. Among the innovations we highlight: a new chassis setup, a revised battery chemistry and a redefined EMCE electric motor. All functional aspects in limiting weight and optimizing handling and balance.
The battery and motor of the Experia model are both newly developed. The battery capacity is increased with a lower weight. A lower centralized center of gravity also promotes better confidence at low speeds, as indicated. The large capacity battery, with a maximum of 22,5 kWh (19,6 kWh nominal), can be recharged from 0 to 80% in 40 minutes with a Level 3/DC fast charger at a maximum rate of 24 kW, again according to the information. It is also possible to use a level 2 (240 V) and level 1 (120 V) charging solution in the office or during longer stops, or even at home during the night. Energica is the only manufacturer to offer all three charging levels.
The new and lighter engine PMASynRM EMCE (Synchronous Reluctance assisted by permanent magnets), is positioned lower than the other models made by the brand.
The maximum power reaches i 75 kW (101 horsepower) with a pair of 115 Nm.
An extended range is also expected compared to other electric models: 246 km (153 miles) combined with 420 km (261 miles) in urban areas.
