Energica Ego, the first e-bikes land in Switzerland

energetic ego – Energica has taken its next step towards legitimizing its place in the e-bike landscape, announcing the first batch of Ego bikes that have been delivered to Energica's Swiss dealer.

The official dealer, Adrian von Büren, of E-performance, recently completed 3142 kilometers with the Ego during the Trofeo Onda 2015 and for his efforts he received an Energica Ego Matte White Pearl and an Energica Ego Matte Black, the latter with the Corsa Kit. For American customers, it was recently announced that Energica and Hollywood Electrics have formed a partnership that will see the Los Angeles electric motorcycle retailer bring the Ego to the States. Although exactly when Hollywood Electrics will receive its first shipment has not yet been announced. The “green” heart of Energica Ego is a three-phase oil-cooled alternating current motor. 11.7 kW/h of "petrol" can be stored in the lithium ion battery pack, useful for traveling from 50 to 150 kilometres. Everything is harnessed in a clear Italian-style trellis frame to which a swingarm made from cast aluminum is hinged. The suspension and brakes are of reference: at the front the Marzocchi fork is combined with Brembo monobloc calipers (and Bosch 9MP ABS), while at the rear there is an Öhlins "mono".
