E-Power it is a project that binds Energica Motor Company e Dell'Orto. A strategic partnership between these realities born on the slopes. The development of an electric propulsion system for sustainable urban mobility.

The partnership

With the company E-Power project The operational horizons seem to be expanding, considering electric motorbikes with high performance and a system designed for an urban environment. The partnership itself benefits from Dell'Orto's production, technical and commercial experience in countries such as China and India, in which the electric two-wheeled models represent functional solutions for rapid travel in Asian megacities, also thinking about the European context where the urban and light electric mobility is expanding.
The collaboration between Energica and Dell'Orto, as reported, will extend even further with the CEMP project financed by the Lombardy Region and focused on a propulsion system "intelligent" which incorporates aspects such as ecology, safety and connectivity, in line with contemporary mega-trends and themes such as ADAS, connectivity and electric mobility.

The project

The study and implementation phases, in addition to the simulation procedures and checks on the components, which also continued during the lockdown period, have ended and the test bench tests for the first prototypes of the system have begun, as reported.
The E-power project can respond to power ranges from 2,5 up to peaks of 15 kW, offering similar performance to models from 50 to 125 cc. Based on the indications, the proposed autonomy can go beyond 100 km. A system designed to operate in an urban context, rechargeable through domestic sockets. Another interesting aspect of the system developed by Dell'Orto and Energica is the integration which limits the number of components and simplifies the system itself.
The control strategies are linked to Energica's decades of experience in the electrical sector, in the road sector and in competitions, in addition to Dell'Orto's almost 90 years of experience in the motorcycle scene, combined with the knowledge of the specialist for small and medium-sized applications on an industrial scale.
