Energica – It's a really intense start to 2019 Energica, the leading manufacturer of electric motorcycles which will be engaged on two fronts: the launch of new production lots in Africa and the increase in presence in the United States.

Energica starts new production batches in Africa

From this year, Energica is launching the first batch on African territory. A strategic and important step in view of the next motorcycling season which will also see the company involved as a sole manufacturer for the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup. After having signed a commercial agreement with the retailer Electric Life Pty Ltd, the Modena-based electric motorcycle company will be among the first EV brands to be present on the continent. In particular, the new commercial partner will focus on South Africa, the main reference market. The departing Energica motorcycles include the entire company range and will arrive in the next few days in Capetown, the base of operations of Electric Life Pty Ltd. With this order alone and a few days before the start of the exercise, the Company has reached approximately 15% of the the entire semester of 2018, which recorded revenues of 1.157 thousand euros. “Our 2019 begins with growth and with surprising results – said Livia Cevolini, CEO Energica Motor Company SpA –. We are proud to bring our brand to international territories such as South Africa. Charging facilities are already available in every province with Gauteng leading the way with more than 90 stations.”

Energica rhymes with United States

If its commitment to the black continent was not enough, Energica continues to expand in the United States. In fact, recent news is the signing of a new commercial agreement with Hudson Valley Motorcycles which will allow the Italian company to increase its presence in the New York State market. New York ranks fifth in the United States for the number of motorcyclists: in 2017 alone, over 392.771 motorcycles were registered. According to Plug-In America, New York is also the second-largest EV market, with approximately 30.645 vehicles registered and a growth rate of 67% in the last year alone. There are more than 2.400 charging stations already installed within the state, putting it fourth behind California, Texas and Florida, where Energica already has dealer representation. Governor Cuomo announced highly ambitious plans to add over 10.000 charging stations and reach 800.000 vehicles. “Our motorcycles travel over 100 miles on a single charge, so the first challenge is the number of charging points, especially fast charge that only Energica motorcycles are able to use,” said Stefano Benatti, CEO of Energica Motor Company Inc. Hudson Valley Motorcycles will represent Energica not only in the state of New York but in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
