Energica, the Modena-based manufacturer of high-performance electric motorcycles, has chosen the Intermot setting to present the most important innovations of 2019 and the new Ego Sport Black color. The choice of the biennial motorcycle event was not a casual one: the German market, in fact, is a key area for the company which has five active sales points in Germany.

All the news from Energica

As we were saying, there are several innovations presented by Energica. The most important is linked to the Elettrica Ego sports car, elected "Electric Bike of the Year" in 2017, which now features new graphics and colors that pay homage to the great development activity that the technical team is carrying out in view of the next FIM Enel MotoE World Cup, of which Energica is the sole manufacturer. The racing experience, thanks to the numerous tests and thousands of kilometers traveled on the track together with the tester Alessandro Brannetti, constitutes a unique test bench for the development not only of the racing bikes but also for the Energica road bikes on the market. The new color is inspired by the test prototype of the Ego Corsa 2019 and pays homage to the partners who have supported Energica by supporting the team with great enthusiasm. The new Sport Black kit includes the Tech saddle with red stitching, Ergal kit and counterweights. The bike will be available starting from 2019 together with the Lunar White/Titan Gray and Red Passion/Titan Gray colours.

But the news doesn't end here. The Modena motorcycles will have a new traction control, configurable on six levels of intervention, alongside the already present anti-slip/anti-hopping engine brake control (eABS) and the Bosch ABS for an even more exhilarating and safe riding experience. Cruise control uses the electric brake to maintain speed and increase braking energy. The new electronic throttle control increases the already high safety standards present on Energica motorcycles and increases the linearity and precision of the torque control. The new system will be able to detect knob rotations of less than 0.01° (one hundredth of a degree). The new heated grips as standard on the MY2019 can be activated via a dedicated control on the electrical block on the right and can be set to four power levels via the dashboard (OFF + 3).

Energica rhymes with technology and for this reason the solutions proposed by the company for the soon to be released models leave us pleasantly surprised. First of all, it will be possible to configure the vehicle through the dashboard to automatically stop charging at a certain level. Several improvements have been made to the management of the cooling of the on-board charger and it will now be possible to activate a "silent" charging mode. The new software will increase the charging current in fast charge, reducing charging time by 15%. finally, all 2019 models will be on sale with fast charge, 4.3'' TFT color display dashboard, four maps (four Riding Modes: Urban, Eco, Rain, Sport – four Regenerative Maps: Low, Medium, High, Off) and Park Assistant as standard.
