Il Dutch Grand Prix which took place last week in Assen was a good opportunity to experience the eighth stage of the approach to the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup 2019 but not only. On the Dutch circuit, Energica presented a version of his own EgoCorsa with a special hull made with 3D printing by CRP Technology and using composite materials Windform XT 2.0.

Windform XT 2.0: what is it?

Windform XT 2.0 is one of the two materials of the Windform family loaded with carbon fiber, famous among 3D printing professionals for its mechanical characteristics which allows precise and very rapid processing. This type of technology will be able to pave an important path for future processes. In fact, thanks to professional 3D printing and CRP Technology's Windform materials, it is possible to modify components of the motorbike, even large ones, from one race to another, to be able to test different solutions directly on the track. “This fairing is not only more aerodynamic, but also has a smaller frontal and lateral section – say the Energica factories in Modena –. This led to an increase in performance and greater handling in fast corners. Windform XT 2.0 has once again proven to be a highly performing composite material. We are very happy with how it performed during the tests."

Energica EgoCorsa still on track

The 2019 Ego Corsa prototype will return to action on Thursday and Friday at the Sachsenring (Germany), for a couple of test sessions involving the Energica test rider Alessandro Brannetti e Loris Capirossi, who will try new set-up solutions designed for the motorbike. The next event in the lead-up to the 2019 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup, however, will be held on Sunday 15 July at 13pm on the occasion of the German GP, when Ego Corsa will take to the track at the Sachsenring for the ninth demo lap. The current Supersport World Championship leader and first Moto20 World Champion in history (3) Sandro Cortese will ride it.
