EICMA – Momodesign thinks about safety

MOMODESIGN, a leading company in the motorcycle helmet sector, known throughout the world for giving the helmet a unique, sophisticated, distinctive character, for EICMA 2013 is focusing everything on research and innovation, quality e safety, fundamental topics for two-wheel enthusiasts.

For the occasion, MOMODESIGN will present its iconic product in an unprecedented way, with a journey that will shed light on the entire "safety system" that makes up the helmet product, showing its workmanship, technical and quality details; fundamental components that make it a safe and indispensable accessory for the protection of the motorcyclist. A showcase inside ofEICMA Security Area, pavilion 6, to dialogue with the public and reveal the complex production system that is the basis of a safe helmet.

In fact, for the brand, safety is a sum of technological and innovative excellences that make up every single model and make it a design object with the main purpose of protecting the wearer's head.

From 1 January 2010 MOMODESIGN has defined a partnership with the company Logico Design srl for the production, approval and distribution of MOMODESIGN helmets exclusively throughout the world.

A collaboration that arises from the sharing of common strategic and development lines. The two companies have invested in technological innovation with a new plant in the Verona area, equipped with technically advanced machinery capable of guaranteeing the high quality of Made in Italy.

Some of the peculiar technical characteristics of the helmet MOMODESIGN I'm:

• la outer shell, the first impact protection barrier has the task of protecting the other elements that make up the helmet by distributing the energy produced in the event of an impact over the entire surface. Depending on the models, MOMODESIGN shells are made of different materials: ABS, composite fibers or carbon fibers. Composite fibers can be mono-composite or bi-composite (carbon and glass fibre) and guarantee lightweight performance and high safety standards
• la internal shell, the internal core of the helmet is a polyester mold of different densities and it must absorb the energy propagated by the impact. The helmet that has suffered an impact must no longer be used as it is built to absorb an impact through the alteration and partial destruction of some of its parts and is no longer capable of protecting with maximum safety. It must therefore be replaced with a new one. Inner and outer shell are crucial for safety
• the internal material, is made up of fabric with silver ion treatment for effective anti-static bacteria and micro-perforated mesh, with high sweat absorption. To be safe, a helmet must completely cover the head; It must not be too small or too large as it would risk undermining. Choosing the correct helmet size is very important for safety
• il chin strap, the closure system of MOMODESIGN helmets, equipped with the exclusive "Microlock" sealing system, one of the most modern and comfortable available today due to its micrometric adjustment. They are able to ensure maximum protection and maximum comfort. The strap strap has also been subjected to numerous tests which guarantee the highest level of safety in the event of a fall by preventing the loss of the helmet
• la spherical visor with anti-scratch treatment and radiation absorption up to 400 microns (UV absorber) it has been tested in the laboratory to verify its optical characteristics and the anti-fog effect which reduces the condensation process for optimal vision necessary for safe driving. The fog-resistant visor has undergone a special treatment on the inside to reduce the formation of condensation in normal conditions of use between -5°C and +40°C with a relative humidity of 80%. It is a protection against the formation of fogging and not a humidity absorber: excess water vapor can turn into a film of water inside the visor. To reduce this phenomenon, the helmet must be ventilated. An approved visor is recognizable thanks to the presence of an approval label which shows the letter E followed by a number.
