EICMA LIVE 2013: The MV AGUSTA StandEICMA LIVE 2013: The MV AGUSTA Stand

We tried to give an impartial and objective report of what we saw at the stand of the house of Schiranna, but we really didn't succeed. In fact, when we see an MV Agusta, their slogan “Motorcycle Art” resonates in our heads - more appropriate than ever - and we also get that particular feeling you get when you find yourself in front of something unique, rare, artisanal. , extremely refined.

It is no coincidence that this year too the MV stand was among the busiest. In addition to the already familiar f4, f3, Brutale and the new and very original Rivale, the attention of us journalists was directed to the new Turismo Veloce, a Sport Tourer equipped with an 800 cm3 three-cylinder engine and 125 HP (in Sport mapping ), the same one that equips the aforementioned Rivale, Brutale and F3 800. But why does a company that has always been synonymous with uncompromising sportiness decide to make its debut in this segment that is almost unknown to it? The answer is simple: take a look at the sales of the Ducati Multistrada and the BMW GS, you will understand how profitable the world of sports tourers is at the moment, a real gold mine. For this reason all major manufacturers must have at least one in their range.

But make no mistake, the Turismo Veloce is a 100% MV. This can be understood from the many things it has in common with its nastier "sisters" F4 and Brutale: the unmistakable design of the front headlight, the structure of the chassis, with the front part made of steel tubes and the rear part made of alloy plates. aluminum and the three "organ pipe" side exhaust pipes. The somatic traits of a thoroughbred MV are all there. Very simply, the new Turismo Veloce aims to give you those unique sensations that only a real MV Agusta can give, but without tiring your wrists, legs and back. And it doesn't end here: the new creature from the Schiranna house offers various "tendernesses" to those who are driving, especially in the high-sounding "Luxury" version, equipped, for example, with semi-active suspensions, Anti Wheeling System, heated grips, connection Bluetooth and integrated GPS. If before this EICMA 2013 taking a long trip as a couple riding an MV branded motorbike was a pipe dream (something bordering on self-harm), now it is possible and decidedly tempting. As we say goodbye, we would like to remember a famous phrase from the late Claudio Castiglioni: "There are many beautiful motorbikes in the world, but MV Agusta is something else...".
