EICMA: GdF seizes counterfeit Vespa scooters
The Piaggio Group takes this opportunity to thank the Guardia di Finanza
The Piaggio Group informs that yesterday afternoon, on the eve of the opening to the public of the Eicma 2012 international motorcycle show, the Guardia di Finanza Compagnia di Rho – Nucleo Mobile proceeded with the seizure of some scooter models with a design that recalls that of the Vespa scooters.
The vehicles seized are the following:
– “Roman” presented at the Fair by TaoTao Group Co.Ltd (People's Republic of China);
– “WL 101Z” presented at the Fair by Ningbo Wanli Weiye International Trade Co. Ltd (People's Republic of China);
– “Luxury” presented at the Fair by Bertini Srl of Traino (VA, Italy);
– “Reset Ecologic” presented at the Fair by WRS Srl of Orta di Atella (CE, Italy);
– “Miami” or “Milan” presented by E-TROPOLIS ITALIA Srl of Castelcucco (TV, Italy).
The seizure of the vehicles took place at the stands of the respective exhibitors at the Miano-Rho Fair.
The Guardia di Finanza proceeded with the seizure after having noted that the seized products present themselves in a very similar way to the registered design of Vespa, the exclusive property of the Piaggio Group and which, therefore, may constitute counterfeiting.
The Piaggio Group takes this opportunity to thank the Guardia di Finanza - whose work is fundamental for the defense of Italian companies and their innovative capacity - for the timely and timely activity carried out against counterfeiting and unfair competition, to safeguard the rights of industrial property and design of national companies.
