EICMA 2018 BMW – Among the many new features presented by BMW during EICMA 2018, the new S 1000 RR undoubtedly stands out, characterized by many new features above and below the fairings.

The Elica company has lightened the new version of the Mille by around 4 kilos while at the same time increasing its power thanks to the new system • 4 kilograms lighter, newly developed 4-cylinder in-line engine with ShiftCam for the variation of the valve timing and valve travel the intake side. Maximum power is estimated at 207 HP at 13500 rpm and maximum torque of 113 Nm at 11000 rpm, while guaranteeing at least 100 Nm of torque between 5 and 500 rpm. The exhaust is also new, lightened by approximately 14 kg. The suspension is also new, with refined suspension geometry and further developed electronic damping adaptation.

There are also many new features from an electronics point of view, updated DTC Dynamic Traction Control, adjustable DTC Wheelie function as standard and adjustable engine braking. New selectable maps: Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race as standard, plus Pro Mode and Race Pro 1-3 as optional. In Pro mode there is: Launch Control and the pit limiter. Also present as standard is the Shift Assistant Pro, for up and down gears without using the clutch.

The look is also new thanks to a more dynamic design. It will be available in two color combinations: Racing Red and Motorsport.
