EICMA 2015 – The scooter, in particular the 125, is the trend of the year for the motorbikes seen at Eicma in a context that is nevertheless positive for market expectations.

The 125 cc are confirmed as the entry class and with the largest volumes, more than a third of the total scooters, representing the most practical and economical vehicle for urban mobility. TOEven the so-called maxiscooters with displacements over 500 with performances very close to those of motorbikes are always at the center of interest. Among the public's preferences there are also the "new" 3-wheelers, which is now turning into a real segment with many variations on the theme, such as the Yamaha MWT-9 or the Quadro Big-Q, which shows an off-road and adventurous declination of this type of vehicle.

The most striking phenomenon is undoubtedly the growth of motorcycles which exceed +14%, thanks to the success of new models with a displacement of around 800 cc and offered to a public that appreciates manageable power, ease of driving and more accessible prices. The medium displacements stand out in the naked segment and also the motorbikes dedicated to touring. But the real trend is that of classic motorbikes, perfectly represented by historic brands such as Moto Guzzi, Triumph, Harley-Davidson or the "more particular" ones such as BMW with the R nineT Scrambler or the Faster Sons series by Yamaha, which at the moment has its crowning glory in the new XSR900.
