EICMA 2015: record turnout at the opening
In addition to motorbikes, the big protagonist is safety
EICMA 2015 - "The turnout data on the first day open to the public exceeded all expectations, with a clear increase compared to past editions.” commented Antonello Montante President of Eicma answering questions from the press this morning at the Montante Cicli stand. “This makes us proud and convinces us that ours is a winning formula. But data and statistics aside, it is wonderful to walk among the pavilions full of people, see thousands of people having fun, collecting their enthusiastic comments. This is truly the motorcycle festival, the most important two-wheel showroom in the world".
We remind you that Eicma is not just motorcycles, accessories for two wheels and MotoLive, at the Milan Motorcycle Show the theme of road safety occupies a leading position. There is also the "Watch out for two wheels in the city" campaign, created by Confindustria Ancma, the association that brings together manufacturers of cycles, motorcycles and accessories, with the patronage of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Municipality of Milan and with the support of the Italian Foundation for 2 Wheels. Furthermore, throughout the fairgrounds there are silhouettes of motorcyclists and cyclists with bright writing on their heads to remind visitors of the necessary attention to be paid by those who choose two wheels to get around. It is a clear reference to the video launched on 6 October by Confindustria Ancma and invites you to visit the Security Area in Hall 11.
The campaign is part of the broader European Road Safety Strategy project promoted by Acem, the Ancma analogue at a European level, and sees the involvement of car sharing operators active in the municipality of Milan and the Metropolitan City (Car2Go, Enjoy, E-Vai , GuidaMi, Twist and Share'nGo), as well as the MyTaxi company. Since October, a special sticker has been displayed on the windows of shared cars and taxis reminding drivers and passengers to pay attention to the presence of bicycles, motorbikes and scooters on the road when opening the car door. According to the findings of road accidents which occurred during 2014, presented in Rome by ACI and ISTAT, the number of deaths on two-wheeled vehicles (mopeds and motorcycles) marks a further decline compared to 2013, recording a contraction of 4,3%.
