EICMA 2013: Kawasaki Z1000

Since its presentation in 2003, the Z1000 has represented the benchmark for all Supernakeds. On November 5, 2013, Kawasaki will unveil the next leap forward in the Z1000 family at EICMA in Milan.

Evolution of the new, radical design philosophy already adopted in the creation of the Z800, the next Z1000 is the result of Kawasaki's approach in using the Japanese "Sugomi" ideogram as a creative inspiration, drawing a motorcycle like a predator in the hunting position of its prey.
Interpreting the majestic, dark looming threat of a panther ready to pounce, the “Sugomi” approach has resulted in a motorbike that appears about to spring into action, focused on its prey, its body leaning downwards, straining muscles in tension ready to react.
Rather than simply being “the fastest” or “the most powerful,” the new Z1000 focuses on the overall emotional intensity of the ride, the tactile sensation of physical control and a carefully measured balance between the two extremes: engine and dynamics frame that only Kawasaki, creator of the Supernaked category, could have created.
For Kawasaki Motorcycle Design Manager, Keishi Fukumoto, the new Z1000 offers an overall increase in performance combined with an indefinable emotional spirit that will appeal to all those looking for a motorcycle with a strong and recognizable character in terms of aesthetic emotionality and performance guide.
“It was a pleasure to receive the invitation to approach the new design of the Z1000 in a “blank sheet” style, to create a Supernaked motorcycle that would reflect the passion and emotions of the type of motorcyclist attracted to this segment of motorcycles successful with a very refined mix of unique Kawasaki spirit and a bold “Sugomi” design.

The new Z1000 together with other important 2014 models will be presented in the press conference to be held at the EICMA International Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition in Milan, Kawasaki stand, Pavilion 5 at 10.30 am today 5 November 2013.
