THE ENGINES

The new Piaggio Fly comes in two modern engines, both 4-stroke, 125 and 50 cc characterized by low consumption, excellent performance and reduced emissions with the best respect for the environment.

The 125 cc single-cylinder, characterized by a 3-valve distribution, is the latest addition to the Piaggio Group's engine research.

It is an air-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine with a single overhead camshaft 3 valves (2 intake and 1 exhaust) e electronic fuel injection, designed and developed in the Pontedera factories, one of the most advanced research and development centers in the world, with the aim of increasing performance and decreasing fuel consumption and polluting emissions. The result is a mileage that can exceed 50km/l at a constant speed of 50km/h. To obtain greater performance and be ready for future restrictive anti-pollution regulations, one was carried out scrupulous study work to reduce friction and improve fluid dynamics. Finally, the main maintenance intervals have been increased to 10.000km in order to further reduce running costs..

The better filling of the combustion chamber, also a consequence of new multi-valve distribution, optimizes combustion reducing consumption and favoring the low level of emissions.
