Eicma 2012 live: all the news from the Ducati stand

The Ducati stand at the 2012 Milan show was rich and crowded: among the many new features, the "R" version of the 1199 Panigale stands out which, in this new set-up, is even more extreme and fascinating. It is no coincidence that this is the bike that Ducati will field in the 2013 world superbike championship, and many are ready to bet that it will collect quite a few victories. Ride by wire, titanium connecting rods, forged Marchesini light alloy rims, lightened flywheel, advanced data acquisition (DDA+), are just some of the "exclusive" features of this bike. Another important innovation is the standard ABS system; the latter, specially calibrated for use on the track, should be able not to disappoint the most expert and fastest users who usually prefer not to have an anti-lock braking system on their motorbikes. The highly successful Hypermotard has been significantly revised. Looking at it, you notice the abandonment of the double exhaust under the saddle, in favor of a lateral one, and the new design of the sides. The engine is also new, an 821cc Testastretta with 110 hp, needless to say, a twin-cylinder. But as always Ducati cannot neglect the racing soul of its sportier customers: in fact, in addition to the basic version, the new Hypermotard is also available in the SP version, for those who, like myself, love to use the bike a lot on the road as much as on the track.
The Hyperstrada, the "tourist" version of the Hypermotard, is dedicated to those who prefer long journeys and quiet tourist walks. Also designed to cover kilometers is the new "Diavel Strada", equipped with side bags, a high windshield and a backrest for the passenger. Updates also for Ducati's best-selling model, the Multistrada, aimed at making it an even more protagonist of the market for 2013. Finally, the Monster range, an iconic model, having completed 20 years of honored career, is presented with celebratory colors called "anniversary ”.
