“Our project has the ambition to bring back TMAX to its truest essence. I once happened to see a photo of its aluminum frame, a legacy of sports bikes Yamaha . I was deeply struck by what the hull hid. I was surprised by the structural charm of TMAX, something different and even a little mysterious, which spoke to my imagination. An intriguing vision that led me to think about transforming this pure mechanical beauty into a radically new look..."

“If you tear off the plastic and remove the subframe and exhaust, the frame line is very interesting, TMAX it has the primordial brute charm of a bare-bones motorbike. Many riders wouldn't expect a supersport aluminum frame in a scooter, and so we decided that this would be the backbone of the project."

“To give the model a “pure racing” image we added grilles to the chassis, and we intervened in various aspects to make the look more “hot road”, almost menacing. We rebuilt the entire tail and covered the saddle in treated fake leather, which has a very worn look, and then we added the risers, the straight handlebar and eliminated the instrumentation with only the power switch. The radiator intake duct was also made by us. After removing the plastic there was a need for support for the feet, so the duct was duplicated and serves as a platform. The front fender is stolen from Yamaha YZF-R6, has been modified by us. Then we built new engine crankcases and lightened them with the belt in plain sight, to obtain an even more extreme look. It took four weeks to do all this, and it certainly wasn't an easy journey."

“Dealing with this project was really stressful, much more than the classic modification of a motorbike. We continually had to fight against the desire to transform TMAX on a motorbike and that's it. It would have been very easy to build a dummy tank and tailpiece and modify the design of TMAX in that of a traditional motorbike, but we wanted to maintain the "step-through" setting (with lowered central beam) of a scooter. Making this choice successful was a real battle, but I think we succeeded, because the reaction of the people who saw it was fantastic."

“I did a few laps with the TMAX and people went crazy when they saw it. To be honest, I didn't expect to like it this much either. It's really different, disturbing in some ways, and that's fine. You always drive like a TMAX but it is even lighter and more agile. Thanks to the racing exhaust, it almost looks like an off-road bike. It's crazy!”.

People think that my passion is cruisers, but in reality I'm more excited by off-road and competition bikes. In any case, no one will be able to separate me from mine Yamaha TMAX Hyper Modified.
