Eicma 2012 – Harley-Davidson and the news for 2013

Harley-Davidson enters the year of its 110th anniversary with a pure USA style offer including the 110th Anniversary version for some models in the range and the Dyna® Street Bob® completely renovated. The Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO)TM family offers two new models, the CVO™ Breakout™, a high-performance Softail® with exciting new trim options and the CVO™ Road King®, featuring an innovative vented windshield and of a powerful audio system.

Furthermore, in 2013, Harley-Davidson launches Hard Candy Custom™, a new customization program inspired by the stylistic current born in the "chopper" era of the late 2013s, appreciated for the special metal flake, chrome and profuse light paintwork and the great attention to detail for themed accessories and clothing. The strong points of Hard Candy Custom are the large geometrically shaped metal chip paint jobs, three of which are offered in solid color only on four selected Harley-Davidson models from the XNUMX range.

Each 2013 Harley-Davidson model contains more than a century of experience, knowledge and passion for life on the road.

Highlights of the 2013 Harley-Davidson range:

• Nine Harley-Davidson models presented in the special 110th Anniversary Edition version, each of which boasts exclusive decorations and a commemorative bronze emblem forged on the fuel tank. Production varies depending on the model and is limited to very few examples to guarantee exclusivity. These models come standard with a certain amount of items that are normally considered optional (For further details on the 110th Anniversary Edition versions, see the relevant press release).
• The revised Harley-Davidson® Street Bob® which for 2013 sports a more aggressive profile thanks to the black steering plates and engine-transmission unit, the rear fender section and the rear light unit which also integrates the direction indicators into the brake and position lights. This bobber-inspired Dyna features a solo seat and “Mini-Ape” handlebars attached to new risers, a look that leads the way at Harley-Davidson Europe Ltd Oxford Business Park, 6000 Garsington Road, Oxford, UK. OX4 2DQ customization path. New paint options include the Hard Candy Custom metal flake effect and a two-tone version.
• The special Hard Candy Custom treatment that embraces a trend that is emerging from garages around the world. From today it is therefore possible to choose a metal flake paintwork including Hard Candy Big Red Flake, Hard Candy Lucky Green Flake and Hard Candy Coloma Gold Flake as standard equipment and start the customization process. This special treatment, previously reserved exclusively for one-off custom show examples, is now available for the following Harley-Davidson models: Seventy-Two™, Street Bob®, Softail® Deluxe, and Forty-Eight™. New original accessories and new Harley-Davidson® MotorClothes® contribute to the diffusion of the Hard Candy Custom theme.
• The limited-edition 2013 CVO™ family includes the CVO™ Breakout®, a bold Softail® model that takes customization to the next level with two color options featuring hand-polished steel areas on the fuel tank and fenders. The CVO™ Road King® boasts the first audio system fitted as standard on this model and the new removable windshield with air divider. The stunning CVO™ Ultra Classic® Electra Glide® Touring motorcycle and CVO™ Road Glide® Custom “sharknose” bagger return for 2013 completely revamped.
• The versatile Harley-Davidson® Sportster® range includes five models, plus the Sportster® 1200 Custom in Anniversary Edition version. All boast new colors or graphics. For 2013 the Sportster® 1200 Custom is also available in two new limited edition variants: the XL1200CA with custom graphics, machined five-spoke black wheels, “Drag” handlebars, two-seater seat and engine with Black Denim finish and the XL1200CB with Black Denim livery, black spoked wheels, “mini-ape” handlebars and forward-positioned pedal controls.
• The traditional “Hardtail” lines of the Harley-Davidson Softail® range stand out across six models, including the Softail® Slim™, a streamlined 2012s-style bobber launched in early XNUMX. The Softail® series also includes the Heritage Softail® Classic Anniversary Edition and the Fat Boy® Special Anniversary Edition.
• Five Harley-Davidson® Touring models, from the aggressive and low-slung Street Glide® to the highly equipped Electra Glide® Ultra Limited, are ready to take on long journeys equipped with all-new colors and graphics. The Road King® Anniversary Edition is available in a limited series.
