EICMA 2012 – Ducati Diavel is renewed

A unique, different, innovative and courageous motorcycle. A style lesson that literally conquered everyone
motorcyclists from all over the world, creating a new reference and opening new horizons. Presented at
EICMA in November 2010, and arrived on the market in early 2011, the Diavel he kept the
promises and even exceeded expectations, rightfully becoming one of the best-selling and most admired motorcycles
of last year.

For 2012 the DIAVEL still presents itself with the innovation and technology that has characterized it since since his first public appearance. A motorbike that is winning over more and more admirers and enthusiasts, confirming the validity of the project and the great intuition of the Borgo Panigale technicians and designers. A new, captivating, "chrome" livery is the novelty destined for next year, a new version that completes the offering of an absolutely innovative and extremely interesting motorbike.

The secret of this success can mainly be attributed to the fact that the Diavel is a motorcycle concept
completely new but, at the same time, a true Ducati capable of perfectly interpreting Italian style. Beautiful as a special, advanced technology, innovative design and extraordinary riding pleasure: all these characteristics are perfectly harmonized in the DIAVEL, a motorcycle that will continue to shape the future.

Of great presence, the DIAVEL dominates the road while remaining light and agile like all Ducati models, bringing the rider/bike relationship, always characterized by maximum comfort, to levels never achieved before. From a technological point of view, i ABS systems, Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Riding Modes offer a refined and at the same time safe driving experience, while the fascinating look, enhanced by 162CV of pure power Ducati make the DIAVEL a comfortable and sporty lifestyle motorcycle, which emerges from the dream of many motorcyclists to become reality.

Power and style have never harmonized with such exhilarating precision. The rear tire from
240mm specially designed and built by Pirelli for this bike, allows, thanks to the indisputable Ducati cycling technology, levels of handling and lean angles that defy the laws of physics, both on mountain bends and while traveling or in city traffic.

The DIAVEL is available in the traditional Ducati Red with red frame and black wheels in addition to the eye-catching Diamond Black which stands out for its matte Racing Black frame, black rims, black headlight support and black anodized air intakes. This proposal is accompanied by three other variants, two of which represent the MY 2012 innovations.

DUCATI DIAVEL CHROME (MY 2012)
The Diavel Cromo represents a valid alternative to the classic colors of the standard model
recalling a vintage look typical of the Ducati tradition. The chrome colored tank cover carefully
finished, it features the Ducati logo in "Ducati Meccanica" style on both sides, a motif that is also repeated on the
passenger seat cover. This “vintage flavor” is further underlined by a saddle texture
made with horizontal ribbing. In addition to the black painted silencer end cap and the black anodized handlebar, glossy black bordered by gray longitudinal lines characterizes the front mudguard, the upper part of the headlight, the central part of the tank and the passenger seat cover. To distinguish this eye-catching version, the writing "CROMO" appears on both side air intakes using laser technology.

DUCATI DIAVEL AMG SPECIAL EDITION (MY 2012)
The exclusive and constructive collaboration between Ducati and Mercedes-AMG comes to fruition with the Diavel AMG
Special Edition, the first model resulting from a "joint" inspiration, which brings together sophisticated stylistic features
of both legendary manufacturers. Starting from the Diavel Carbon, the Diavel AMG Special Edition is
characterized by a series of new design elements inspired by the unmistakable stylistic features of the cars
high-performance Mercedes-AMG features such as 5-spoke forged wheel rims and side radiator grilles
made of carbon with aluminum decorations, as well as a new sports exhaust system with
carbon heat shields, developed specifically for this version with end caps engraved with the logo
AMG and the seat with horizontal ribbing covered in Alcantara®. The exclusivity of the version is
further subtitled by the phase inspection cover applied to the left crankcase with the signature of
engine technician who manually calibrated the timing of the Desmodromic system. Every motorbike,
furthermore, it will be equipped with a numbered plate located on the central tank cover.
The Diavel AMG Special Edition comes with a black carbon fuel tank and passenger seat cover
matt with longitudinal stripe and frame made in the exclusive “Diamond White Bright AMG” color,
capable of creating a very pleasant contrast with the beautiful black rims. The wheel rims, the saddle and the bottoms
of the exhaust are all AMG branded and also, on the air intakes on both sides of the tank, it is
present the laser-made AMG logo.

DUCATI DIAVEL CARBON
The DIAVEL Carbon embodies the true nature of the DIAVEL concept which, with its mix of style and performance,
celebrates the maximum expression of Italian engineering tradition. The components in milled aluminum
and extremely light composite materials bring together two worlds, that of sport and that of style, with
extraordinary characteristics from both a visual and performance point of view.
The DIAVEL Carbon is available in the beautiful "red carbon" colors (glossy red on a matte texture
carbon) with a red frame, or “black carbon” (glossy and matt black carbon texture) with a black frame. Both
the Diavel Carbon liveries are completed by black rims, turned and milled to reveal the aluminum
natural underlying.

Alloy carbon was used for the tank covers, the solo seat cover and the front mudguard
purpose of reducing weight and underlining the racing DNA of this Ducati, while the fork legs
Marzocchi are equipped with DLC anti-friction coating, with a characteristic black color to match the
exceptional performance and maximum aesthetic effect.

To enhance agility and performance in acceleration, braking and changes of direction, the DIAVEL Carbon is
equipped with Marchesini forged rims, beautiful and light, which allow a weight saving of 2,5kg
reducing unsprung masses. The wheels, with a black finish and a complex decorative pattern that
highlights the structure, they are machined on the lathe and the mill to obtain maximum weight reduction. The
Black disc holder flanges are subjected to a similar process, which in addition to resulting in savings
weight, reveal the natural aluminum, effectively contrasting with the black color of the
flange.
