Eicma 2010, Yamaha Worlcrosser – live photo

To find a fitting definition, the motorcycle manufacturer of the three tuning forks has indicated the new Yamaha Worldcrosser as "Adventure to the nth degree!" (sic). It is perhaps the most important of the novelties of Eicma 2010, the stage for the Italian debut of a motorcycle which has already made the rounds on the screens of enthusiasts and which has already been shown, initially, at the Intermot in Cologne, Germany, a few day ago. The oriental manufacturer ensures that this adventure-friendly two-wheeler surpasses all clichés to accentuate the true nature of Yamaha Super Ténéré.

That is, the motorcycle company took a Super Ténéré XT1200Z, vivisected it, added some new components and voilà, the motorcycle dedicated to those who would like to experience adventure without any palliatives, without any softness. The new Yamaha Worldcrosser, for example, is equipped with a GPS device and a satellite navigation system, which is one of the condicio sine qua non this can be defined as a true adventure motorbike.

Equipped with the same engine as the Ténéré from which it derives, the new Worldcrosser is therefore equipped with a 1.199 cubic centimeters displacement, two-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine, which delivers 110 horsepower at 7.250 rpm and 114,1 Nm of maximum torque at 6.000 rpm. But don't get your hopes up: at the moment, there is no space for the production of this special version. That is, did the Yamaha motorcycle company create it just to give vent to its creativity? No: hypothetically, this is where the future of the manufacturer's technology lies.
