Eicma 2010, Kawasaki ZX-6R Model Year 2011
The new Kawasaki ZX-6R Model Year 2011 arrives at the same time as the presentation of the new Kawasaki ZX-10R 2011, so as not to be burned by the change in stylistic trend of the largest road bike. But the line of the small sports car remains the same: some details have been inserted, just a few, to give shape to a mid-career update.
First of all, it is correct to point out that the engine with which the new 6 ZX-2011R is equipped is the same 599 cubic centimeters, four-stroke, four-cylinder in-line, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four valves per cylinder, which provides the same dose of power: 128 horsepower at 14.000 rpm (or 134 at 14.000 rpm with RAM air intake technology) and 66,7 Nm of maximum torque at 11.800 rpm.
The braking system has been renewed: as regards the front tyres, we now find two semi-floating petal discs of 320 millimeters in diameter (20 additional millimetres) with radial attachment and four-piston Nissin calliper, while as regards the rear tyre, this is equipped with a single 220 mm diameter floating petal disc (additional 10 mm) with Tokico caliper.
The rest is what is known: Kawasaki ZX-6R remains substantially the same, even if already projected towards next year. The faired sports car should keep its marketing price unchanged, also to remain competitive: now there is a new road car in town, the MV Agusta F3.
