In a few hours, the Milan Motor Show, Eicma, will open its doors to the press and enthusiasts will be able to learn, at least virtually, about the most important features of this motorcycle. The first official images of the new MV Agusta F3 have leaked, which, as you will remember, we had already shown with some spy photos on the road (although the Italian road two-wheeler was still covered in camouflage). I don't know if this is the result of the new strategy of Castiglioni and his collaborators: a few months after the acquisition by the Italian consortium, the Varese motorcycle company throws itself into a new market.

Castiglioni himself says it to Sole24Ore: “The F3 marks the relaunch of MV Agusta. It is a revolutionary model, but at the same time it is linked to the history of MV, because the company grew and won with Giacomo Agostini's three-cylinder engines. But it is not just a question of rediscovering the most glorious tradition. Now we are entering a new market, that of the 600, a segment which greatly expands the clientele that can be interested in our products".

Yes, the new fairing, MV Agusta F3, will only have three cylinders and a cubic capacity of 600 cubic centimetres. The bodywork leaves no room for doubt: it is the daughter of Agostini's design, that of MV Agusta F4, the larger two-wheeled sister. It couldn't be otherwise: it is now the heritage of the Italian company.

No other details have been disclosed, up to now, on the new F3, even if Castiglioni wanted to be a little more tight-lipped with Sole24Ore: "We will also develop the small version of the "naked", i.e. the Brutale, conceived with the same three-cylinder engine and chassis as the F3. We will place ourselves in a price range of around 9.000 euros." The new MV Agusta F4 will arrive in the autumn of next year, at a price of around 11.000 euros, while the naked version will arrive in 2012.
