Ecobonus electric motorbikes, ANCMA: highlighted the work that expands the effectiveness of the measure

Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Cycle Motorcycle Accessories) welcomed the announced start of booking contributions indicated by Ministry of Economic Development, concerning the so-called Ecobonus connected to electric motorcycles.

The conversion into law of Relaunch Decree has implemented the measures that redefine the Ecobonus contributions intended for the purchase of electric motorbikes, scooters, mopeds, tricycles and quadricycles. Specifically, the percentages of the Ecobonus, which can be requested up to 31 December 2020, now cover 30% of the purchase price, up to a maximum of 3.000 euros without scrapping and 40% of the purchase price up to a maximum of 4.000 euros with scrapping, as emerged.
A prevailing interest in mopeds is hypothesized, considering their urban use, also associated with sharing services in the largest Italian metropolises, unlike motorbikes and scooters with smaller numbers.
“The objective of the association was to give even those who did not have an obsolete vehicle to scrap the opportunity to enjoy this incentive, so as to be able to develop a market that still has great growth potential”, as reported by president of ANCMA, Paul Magri.
Considering the market, in the first seven months of 2020, while keeping in mind the lockdown period, 2.166 mopeds were registered (+36% on 2019) and 1.798 scooters and motorcycles (+158%, again compared to the previous year). A further increase compared to the values ​​ascertained in 2019, an already rather "dynamic" year given the 4.031 mopeds sold (+38%) and 1.796 motorcycles and scooters, equal to +185% compared to 2018. Bearing in mind still limited numbers, if we consider markets such as France, Spain and Holland, however, the incidence of electric vehicles is highlighted based on the total market of motorized two-wheeled vehicles in Italy, more than double compared to the automotive market, taking the information again.
