Here are the BMW scooters

They were spotted in the pavilions of the latest edition of EICMA 2011, the international motorcycle show in Milan. But they will be built in series in the factory BMW Motorrad Berlin. With a pair of maxi scooters, the German manufacturer is looking for space in a new market segment. No upheaval of existing balances, let's be clear. With the new C 600 Sport and C 650 GT, BMW aims to transfer the reliability, power and elegance of cars to two wheels. If the first model is designed foruse in the city, and the C 650 GT proves to be congenial for long trips, they have in common the 647 cubic centimeter parallel twin engine and the 60 horsepower with maximum torque of 66 Nm.
The attention paid to safety is immediately noticeable. That engine moved forward, almost horizontally, to keep the lower center of gravity it is the clearest proof of this. Approximately 250 kilograms in weight, the two bikes reach 100 per hour, starting from zero, in 7 seconds, until reaching a maximum speed above 170.
From an ergonomic point of view, the C 600 Sport It features lower handlebars and a sportier 810 mm saddle. The C 650 GT winks more at comfort: higher handlebars, larger saddle (the height is 780 mm) and adjustable backrest. If the first model shows a short fairing, that of the C 650 GT is considerably larger designed for safe driving even in wind and weather. In common they have a parking brake activated automatically from the side stand, electronic injection and catalyst for reducing consumption and emissions, adjustable windscreen (electric for the C 650 GT, manual for the C 600 Sport), three color variants: Cosmicblue matt metallic, Titansilber or Saphirschwarz metallic for the C 600 Sport; Saphirschwarz, Platinbronze or Vermilion red metallic for the C 650 GT.

There are many compartments of different sizes designed to accommodate smartphones and laptops. There is ample adjustable space under the saddle (FlexCase system) capable of accommodating two full-face helmets.
