Ebike by Smart protagonist at the European Sustainable Mobility Week

The event for enthusiasts is in Bologna

Bologna returns to host the European Sustainable Mobility Week, one of the main European events to relaunch projects, ideas and concrete proposals that aim to make urban mobility increasingly environmentally friendly. Smart will be present with fortwo electric drive e ebike, which extends mobility to two wheels plug & play from the Smart brand.

Visitors will be able to get to know the eco-friendly solutions proposed by smart up close and get on an ebike for a zero-emission walk through the streets of the city centre, made even more pleasant by the use of the electric pedal assistance motor.

Fortwo electric drive opens a new era for smart customers, who can enjoy even greater driving pleasure thanks to a compact, zero-emission car, available in both coupé and cabrio versions. Thanks to the 55 kW electric motor, the smart fortwo electric drive accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 4,8 seconds, while the maximum speed of 125 km/h guarantees excellent driving pleasure even on urban routes. The 17,6 kWh battery allows you to travel approximately 145 kilometers in the city.

Smart e-bike it breaks every convention in terms of bicycle design, integrating the electric traction components without penalizing the aesthetic factor: a true two-wheeled smart, which allows everyone to move quickly and easily. ebike is a Pedelec (Pedal Electric Cycle) and is therefore a hybrid vehicle: the BionX brushless, maintenance-free electric motor is mounted in the hub of the rear wheel and starts as soon as the driver acts on the pedals, like on a traditional bicycle .

Depending on the power chosen and driving style, the range of the recharged battery can exceed 100 kilometres. With over 400 Wh the lithium ion battery represents one of the most powerful on the market. The portable battery can be recharged via a normal household socket or, even more economically and ecologically, while driving. During braking, the motor integrated into the hub transforms into a generator: the recovered braking energy is converted into electrical energy and stored in the lithium ion battery of the ebike.
