Dunlop Roadsmart III SC: the innovative scooter tire

Dunlop Roadsmart III SC – After the great success found in the preliminary tests for the Roadsmart 3 tyre, Dunlop has decided to expand the range by introducing a new design intended for the vast market of sports and touring scooters.

It was in fact designed to offer a high level of performance and durability in all seasons. This is a premium scooter tire with radial construction, derived directly from the world of road motorcycling. High-end scooters have become increasingly popular among motorcyclists looking for a comfortable and practical means of transport for home-work journeys, but also for sporty and agile behaviour. This set of requirements presented an interesting challenge for Dunlop engineers, who chose to combine new technologies and established systems to meet these new needs.

The SC resumes the same iGT technology (tread with interconnected grooves) also used for the 2016 Roadsmart III, guaranteeing excellent grip even on wet asphalt as well as uniform wear. The seamless belt system (Jointless Belt – JLB), another technology inherited from the sport touring tyre, allows maintaining a stable contact surface with the road and reduces distortions and excessive heat accumulation, a novelty in the scooter segment. The tire was also developed with the CTT technology (Camber Thrust Tuning), so as to allow easy entry into curves, with a side shaped specifically to limit the steering effort required, also facilitating the agile maneuvers and slaloms typical of those who travel many kilometers in city traffic.

So Dimitri Talboom, Dunlop product manager for Europe, believes that scooter riders around the world will recognize Roadsmart III SC as a leader in the sector thanks to its countless technical features.

The new product from Dunlop has already obtained the prestigious approval of Yamaha who has decided to equip the Tmax 530 DX 2017 model with Roadsmart III SC.

The RoadSmart III SC is available in 2 front sizes and 2 rear sizes to fit numerous scooter models.
