Dunlop GT502 – Dunlop has announced that Harley Davidson has homologated the new Dunlop GT502 in sizes 120/70R19 (front) and 150/70R18 (rear) for its new XL1200 CX Roadster. These two new sizes of the GT502 have an innovative radial structure, designed to adapt to the sportier nature of the new Roadster, featuring a dynamic suspension system and an improved brake system.

Dunlop worked closely with the Harley-Davidson technical team to develop this exclusive equipment. The rear features a Jointless Belt (JLB) construction and a silica-enriched compound derived from Dunlop's latest Sport Touring tires which optimizes mileage and wet performance. “For this Roadster, Harley-Davidson set ambitious goals for stability, feedback, ride comfort and cornering control. To achieve these results, we worked together to develop a completely new structure and compound, resulting in the new GT502.” said Dmitri Talboom, Product Manager Dunlop Moto EMEA. Dunlop American Elite and the new GT502 sizes are available at all Dunlop Moto tire dealers in Europe.

This year Dunlop presented the new American Elite with Multi-Tread technology, which combines a very wear-resistant compound in the center of the tire with high lateral grip compounds in the shoulder area of the rear tire. In recent months, several manufacturers have tested the American Elite and have approved it for their latest models: among these Moto Guzzi, Victory and Indian. Moto Guzzi chose the American Elite front and rear tire for the California 1400 Eldorado, Victory for the High-Ball and Indian for the Chief Vintage. “The introduction of Dunlop MultiTread technology in the American Elite has increased the durability, lean angle, stability and wet grip of Cruiser and Touring tires. We are proud that these performances have been recognized by the manufacturers who today have decided to approve them for a wide range of models.” adds Talboom.
