Ducati WDW 2014, the desmodromic faith is called to rally

He approaches the eighth edition of the Ducati world rally and the entire Romagna Riviera is preparing to welcome the many Ducati fans and all two-wheel enthusiasts for the most awaited event of the year, the WORLD DUCATI WEEK 2014, scheduled at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” from 18 to 20 July.

It promises to be a great edition where obviously the passion for "Red" and fun will dominate; just last year, the “desmodromic engines” event, it attracted as many as 65.000 Ducati riders from all over the world.

What has always been the winning recipe of the WDW will also be used on this occasion, with many activities planned for the long weekend. Here are some interesting previews: the pilots of the Ducati Team MotoGP Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow, the riders of the Team Pramac, Andrea Iannone and Yonny Hernández, as well as Michele Pirro, test rider of the Ducati Test Team. Also present were the two official pilots of the Ducati Superbike Team, Davide Giugliano and Chaz Davies, together with Niccolò Canepa (Team Althea Racing), Leandro Mercado and Ondrej Jezek, riders of the Barni Racing Team, who with Fabio Massei and Alex Schacht, bearers of the EAB Racing Team, are participating in the FIM Superstock Championship.

It will not be missed Troy bayliss, and with him another champion who today is still part of the great Ducati family as brand ambassador, that is Carlos Checa. To date, some "stars" in the history of motorcycling have also confirmed their presence, such as the "myth" Carl Fogarty, Piefrancesco Chili, Doug Polen, Régis Laconi and Giancarlo Falappa, all linked to world championship successes achieved in the Superbike championship aboard Ducati.

Pilots, who will celebrate the “Birthday of the 916”, which in 2014 celebrates twenty years since its birth. An exhibition dedicated to this icon of motorcycling (defined by the media as "Art on two wheels" or "The eighth wonder of the world" but also "The Sistine Chapel of motorcycling"), aims to retrace the evolution of the Ducati Superbike, starting from this masterpiece, to arrive at another "state of the art" that is decidedly more current and equally iconic, the 1199 Superlight, which exactly twenty years after the 916, is setting a new benchmark among production motorcycles.

On Saturday the Ducati riders will compete in the exciting "Drag Race". It will be a unique race, scheduled on the starting straight of the Misano World Circuit "Marco Simoncelli", an exciting and engaging show that will see the challenge of the riders riding the new DIAVEL CARBON.

For those who want, they will be there test laughs exclusives of the latest Ducati news, as well as WDW Tours, to visit the areas surrounding the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”, stopping in the characteristic and fascinating little Republic, and visiting its enchanting historic center, a UNESCO world heritage site.

It is already possible to purchase the entrance ticket, online on the wdw.ducati.it website. The sale, via the web, will be open until July 13th. Then, it will be possible to purchase tickets directly at the circuit starting from July 17th. There are two types of tickets: valid for one day or for all three days of WDW2014. The ticket is divided into a motorcyclist pass (rider + motorbike) and a passenger/visitor pass (single person without motorbike). Entrance will give the opportunity to experience all the activities at 360° that Ducati is organizing for this eighth edition of World Ducati Week.
