Ducati: Volkswagen Group official importer in Spain and Portugal

Le Ducati in the Iberian peninsula they will be sold from Volkswagen Group. In fact, as announced by the Borgo Panigale company in a press conference in Madrid, the Spanish branch of the German group will become the official importer of the Italian brand in Spain and Portugal, starting from 1 January 2024. The only exception will concern the Canary Islands.

“An even closer relationship”

All Ducati top management was present at this important announcement, including some of the bikes in the range: from Multistrada V4 Rally to the Scrambler Icon, via the Streetfighter V4 S and the replica of the Desmosedici GP23, driven by the MotoGP champion Francis Bagnaia.

“The collaboration with Volkswagen Group España will give us the opportunity to create an even closer relationship with our enthusiasts in Spain and Portugal – the words of the CEO Claudio Domenicali – thanks to the important presence that the company has on the market, its team of professionals and the drive towards innovation and digitalisation of its services”. Volkswagen Group will replace Desmotron, importer for the last 20 years.

Great enthusiasm in the words of Francisco Perez Botello, president of Volkswagen Group Spain: “We are offered an extraordinary opportunity to continue to grow as a company – he explained – and to bring Ducati into a new era in the Iberian market”.

According to what was stated by the brand's leaders, the strategic priorities will focus on strengthening the brand's upper-premium positioning and placing enthusiasts increasingly at the center. The commercial objective of making the Iberian one the second most important market in Europe for Ducati.
