Ducati V4 Granturismo: a summary of the engine [VIDEO]

A dance of elements completes the new engine Ducati V4 Granturismo in the video proposed on the occasion. A heart aimed at the next one Multistrada V4.

The quality characteristics

The new driving unit was anticipated through four theorems, dedicated to as many interesting aspects. We start from the compactness also compared to the V2 unit currently present on the Multistrada, also considering a lighter weight of 1,2 kg. As mentioned, the maximum power is 170 horses at 10.500 rpm, while the maximum torque of 125 Nm at 8.750 rpm. Euro 5 approval. Together with the engine there is a six-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down system.
Equally characterizing factors are the 70° staggered arrangement of the crank pins which, associated with the cylinder layout, proposes a "Twin Pulse" firing order, the damping of the cylinders behind with the engine at idle, the presence of a counter-rotating shaft and, in particular , a new distribution with spring valve return system.
